Privacy notice
Version of 4 November 2026.
1. Who is responsible
Aleksei Rakhimov, c/o JL Consulting Group GmbH#1660, Zürcherstrasse 84, 8852 Altendorf, Switzerland — a private individual publishing fahrstark.ch; e-mail stark@fahrstark.ch. This notice follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/nDSG, in force since 1 September 2023). Where the GDPR applies to users in the EU/EEA, its rights are honoured in the same way.
2. What we collect, and why
- Your first name and surname — given in the form at the door, so that the partner driving school can address you by name.
- E-mail address and the canton of your exam — given when you sign up. We use them to send your personal sign-in link, your examination results if you ask for them, and the few messages without which the account cannot work: that the Service is temporarily unavailable, that your access is coming to an end, or that something has changed in the Service. The canton also tells us which examination ground to show you. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
- What you accepted, and when — the version and the fingerprint of the terms of use and of this notice as they stood when you signed up, and the moment you accepted them — including the condition of use shown at the door, with the fingerprint of the very words you were shown. We keep this because it is the only way to show, if it is ever disputed, which text you actually agreed to. Kept for ten years.
- What you ticked about yourself — whether you already take lessons at a driving school, drive with an accompanying person, have done the compulsory traffic-theory course, have your examination booked, or have already failed it. You may tick none of them; that is an answer too. Legal basis: performance of the contract and the condition of use.
- Your drives — the score and the result by family of situations of each exam you complete, so the Service can show you your progress. Kept while your account exists; you may delete them from your account page at any time.
- A sign-in cookie (
sdt) — a random token that keeps you signed in for up to 90 days. It is strictly necessary for the Service, carries no tracking, and is deleted when you sign out. Because it is the only cookie and it is necessary, no cookie banner is shown. - Browser storage — your chosen canton, your sign-in token, the mode you drive in and a few display preferences are kept in your own browser; they never leave it.
- Server logs — IP address, page requested, time, browser type. They are kept by our hosting provider for up to 30 days, to keep the Service secure and to diagnose faults, and are not used for anything else.
- Usage statistics — a Matomo instance on our own server, without cookies, with IP addresses truncated, counting which pages are opened and in what order. It sets nothing on your device and sends nothing to any third party.
We do not sell data, do not profile you, do not run advertising, and do not use your data to train models.
3. Who else sees the data
- Hosting: Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, Switzerland — the servers and the mail run there.
- The partner driving school in your region — it receives your contact details and how you drove the route, and nothing else. This is the condition of use you accept at the door, in the words shown to you there: “What we pass on. To the partner driving school in your region: your contact details and how you drove the route. Nothing else, and to nobody else.” The school becomes a controller of that copy in its own right; what it has already received stays with it, and our deletion does not reach it.
- E-mail delivery: our own mailbox, on the hosting named above. No separate mailing service is involved, and your address is not given to one.
- Maps and imagery: swisstopo, OpenStreetMap and the photograph hosts are loaded from our own servers; your browser does not contact them.
- Fonts: served from our own servers. Your browser does not contact Google or any other font service.
- Statistics: the Matomo instance runs on our own server; no analytics company is involved.
No data is transferred outside Switzerland and the EU/EEA, except where a provider named above says so in its own terms.
4. Your rights
You may ask at any time what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its use, receive it in a portable form, or object to a use based on legitimate interest. Write to stark@fahrstark.ch. You may delete your account, with all drives, from the account page in the Service. One thing survives that deletion, without your name or your e-mail address: the record of which text you accepted and when. What the partner driving school has already received stays with it. Swiss law obliges us to keep bookkeeping records for ten years, and we may keep what we need to defend a legal claim for as long as one can be brought. Nothing in that record identifies you. You may complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Bern.
5. Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Sign-in is by a single-use link, without passwords. Access to the server is limited to the Provider. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, you will be informed as the law requires.
6. Children
The Service is meant for people preparing a driving examination and is not directed at children under 16.
7. Changes
The current version is the one published here, with its date.
